Shana- Diabetes educator

Shana is a highly experienced Registered Nurse and Diabetes Educator with over 20 years of diverse nursing experience in community and acute care settings across Melbourne's north west. Holding a Bachelor of Nursing, a Bachelor of Applied Science (Health Promotion), and a Graduate Certificate in Primary Care (Diabetes Education and Management), Shana is well-equipped to provide expert diabetes care.

As a Diabetes Educator/Clinical Nurse Consultant at the Royal Melbourne Hospital since 2021, Shana has demonstrated her expertise in diabetes management and education. She has also showcased her research skills, presenting at the Australian Diabetes Conference (ADC) in 2023 and 2024 after having her abstract submissions accepted for ADEA orals.

Shana takes a holistic, patient-centered approach to diabetes care, supporting individuals with various types of diabetes, including type 1, type 2, type 3c, LADA, MODY, and steroid-induced diabetes. She is skilled in managing all forms of diabetes technology currently available in Australia and holds a leadership role as the Inpatient/Inpatient Technology Stream Lead at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
