About Deevya

With a strong connection to the South Asian community and belonging to a culturally diverse background herself, Deevya is dedicated to delivering patient-centered care that respects cultural preferences.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in human nutrition (honours) and a Master’s in Dietetic Practice. Her honours thesis focused on developing a culturally appropriate and evidence-based diet for South Asian women with gestational diabetes mellitus.

Currently Deevya is engaged with the local community in creating and implementing culturally specific dietary education for individuals with type 2 diabetes in the Indian community residing in Australia. Deevya is skilled in conducting primary research with culturally diverse communities, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
